What this site collects

The short version

No accounts, no sign-ups, no email list, no analytics, no advertising network, and no tracking pixels. Nothing you do here is recorded against you personally, because there is no “you” to record it against.

Cookies

This site sets exactly one cookie, and only for the site owner: a session cookie created when logging into the private admin page. It stores a signed session token, nothing else, and it is never set for ordinary visitors.

There is no cookie consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Banners exist for analytics, advertising and profiling cookies, none of which this site uses. If that ever changes, a banner will appear before the cookies do.

What your browser loads from other companies

This is the one place where third parties see you. The credit-card and savings-account comparisons show real product images served directly from the banks and card issuers — American Express, Chase, Citi, Bank of America and the banks listed on the savings page. When those images load, your browser contacts those companies directly, and they can see your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Following an “Apply here” link takes you onto that company’s site, where their privacy policy applies and this one stops.

Questions you submit

When the anonymous question form is open, submitted questions are stored as plain text and nothing else. No name, no email, no IP address, no browser fingerprint. There is deliberately no way to link a question back to the person who asked it, including for the site owner. Answered questions are published; unanswered ones simply sit unpublished.

Hosting logs

The site runs on Vercel, and their servers keep standard request logs — IP address, page requested, timestamp — the way essentially every web host does. That data is held by Vercel under their own privacy policy and is not read, exported or analysed here.

Affiliate links

Some links to credit cards and savings accounts are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, a commission may be paid at no cost to you. Those companies may use their own cookies to attribute the referral once you are on their site. It never changes how the picks are ranked or what is said about them — see the terms for more.
